Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity Mission Statement

As Christian servant-leaders, provide and promote:

Simple, affordable, decent housing.

An environment of empowerment, stability,
learning, and success for at-risk families.

Community through partnering with
advocates, gifters, and volunteers of all faiths.

Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity is a partnership, house building, homeownership Christian ministry in the greater Holland area. It is based on the principle that all God's people deserve a decent place to live and that our community is a better place when that occurs.

As of January 2008, Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity (LHFH) has completed 86 homes, bettering the lives of hundreds of children in the area.
We serve the greater Holland, Michigan area: north to M-45, south to Fennville, east through Zeeland, west to Lake Michigan.
Homeowner-Partners are selected based on need, ability to pay and willingness to partner.
Homes are sold to Homeowner-Partners at no profit with no-interest loans.
Homeowner-Partners must complete 250 to 500 sweat equity hours on their own home and other Habitat projects.
90% of our funding is provided by tax deductible-donations, either monetary or in-kind, from foundations, individuals, churches, corporations and others.
All homes are built in partnership with volunteers, Homeowner-Partners and Sponsor-Partners.
Fourteen dedicated community members serve as our Board of Directors.
We have been affiliated with Habitat for Humanity International since November 1990.
