Kdeb
Kheng and Mao Thik, are very happy to have been selected
as Homeowner Partners with Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity
and look forward to owning their own home. Kdeb and
Mao were both born in Cambodia and brought their family
to Holland from California a few years ago. Kdeb has
worked for Stone Plastics since September 2005 and Mao
has worked for Integrated Fabric Resource since October
2004. They attend Cambodian Fellowship Christian Reformed
Church in Holland.
Kdeb and Mao have seven children.
The four oldest children attend Holland High School.
Samoeurn (19) likes to spend time with his friends.
Somaly ("Nancy") is 17 and she likes to go shopping
and to the movies. Somrat (16) enjoys spending time
with his friends and going to the movies. Christina
(15) loves to cook and help around the house. Twins
Pholy and Phola (14) attend Harbor Lights Middle School.
Both Pholy and Phola like to watch TV. Phola also enjoys
reading. Kdeb and Mao's youngest child, Sopana, is 11
years old and a student at VanRaalte Elementary. Sopana
like to go fishing with his dad, shopping with his mom
and loves to go to the park. All of the children like
to spend time on the computer. Kdeb enjoys swimming,
fishing and volleyball. Mao likes to shop and spend
time with her family.
As Kdeb and Mao work to complete
their 500 hours of sweat equity, they will have the
support and encouragement of their children and extended
family members. They believe owning their own home will
not only provide them with much needed space but also
give their children a sense of security for a better
future.
