Andy
and April Yates are most eager to partner with Lakeshore
Habitat for Humanity in order to see their dreams of
homeownership come true. They look on the future with
excitement as they complete their 500 hours of sweat
equity knowing that their children will have a better
living environment.
The Yates Family consists of Andy and April and their
three children; Jacob (11), Austin (10) and Madison
(3). Andy has been employed for over 4 years with The
Westhore Mall of Holland. In his spare time he enjoys
spending time with his family and strategic board games.
April is a full-time mom and enjoys volunteering in
the community and church. Austin and Jacob both greatly
enjoy participating in Area 12 Special Olympics. Madison
when not on the heels of her big brothers excitedly
attends preschool. The Yates are members of the Grand
Haven Church of the Nazarene.
The Yates family emphasizes that owning their own house
"will be a huge blessing" knowing that they have "a
nice place with adequate room for the children to call
home." In the process of providing a better living situation
for their family, the Yates have said "We have tried,
with much effort, to make our house a home for our special
family. However, one cannot build without the proper
tools. This is why we have turned to Lakeshore Habitat
for Humanity in search of a resourceful partnership
where we may have the opportunity to help others and
ourselves."
