Arlein believes that by helping other families
have a safe, decent and affordable place to live;
she will improve the community she lives in. . |
Arlein Beall and her three children were living in a mobile home with her sister’s family when they decided to apply to the Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity program. In all, nine people were sharing the very crowded house. Arlein felt that living with her sister was the only way she could provide for her children following her divorce.
Arlein and her children are a very “servant” oriented family. They enjoy volunteering through their church – Christ Memorial Reformed. They also see their partnership with Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity as an opportunity to serve others. She has begun working on 250 hours of “sweat equity” by building Habitat houses and by attending required classes.
Michael (17), Lauren (16) and Caleb (12) all attend West Ottawa Public Schools. All three children enjoy playing and watching soccer. The boys also like to play basketball. Lauren loves music and helps with drama presentations at her church. Arlein works for the Empire Company.
