When is the South Haven ReStore closing?
February 28, 2026
Is this closure of the South Haven ReStore permanent?
Yes, the South Haven ReStore is permanently closing. However, the Holland ReStore remains open.
Why is the South Haven ReStore closing?
This decision reflects our ongoing commitment to being responsible stewards of the resources entrusted to us. Resources currently dedicated to this ReStore will be strategically redirected to strengthen our core mission by expanding our Home Repair Program in South Haven and advancing future new home construction projects in Van Buren County. These investments will allow us to better meet the growing need for safe, affordable housing while supporting families in maintaining stable, healthy living conditions.
Will Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity still be involved in South Haven and Van Buren County?
Yes, absolutely!
Lakeshore Habitat will still be offering free ReStore donation pickups and deconstruction services in South Haven. We also have specific funds allocated for home repair services through our Home Repair Program, often at no cost to qualified homeowners in the City of South Haven and South Haven Township. We have future plans to expand Habitat home-building into Van Buren County as well.
What will happen to store inventory? Will there be liquidation sales?
Donated items in the South Haven ReStore are now on sale for at least 60% off, with items increasingly discounted through the end of February. Donations are no longer being accepted at this location.
All Lakeshore Habitat purchased products like paint, rugs, and live edge wood are not a part of the liquidation sale and have been moved to our Holland ReStore where it is still available for purchase.
Where is the nearest ReStore to donate or shop after the store closes?
Our ReStore in Holland is still a great place to donate your used items and shop for building materials, furniture, live edge wood, rugs, paint, and other household items. We will continue to provide free donation pickups and deconstruction services in South Haven, which you can schedule on our website here.
Thank you for your support.
