Ways to Give

There are many ways to support our work! When you donate funds, items, services, or even land, you help us strengthen families and communities through affordable homeownership.

Donate Funds

Become part of The Neighborhood, our most committed group of donors! These dedicated monthly donors work together to build homes, communities and hope.

We welcome gifts of any size! Help us provide affordable homeownership opportunities to families in our community by making a tax-deductible gift today.

You can support Lakeshore Habitat through a legacy gift, memorial gift, appreciated assets, qualified charitable distribution from an IRA, and more.

Donate Items

Donate new and used furniture or home improvement items to our ReStore! Free pick-ups and deconstruction available.

Donate your vehicle to support Lakeshore Habitat! It's easy, and net proceeds will go toward building affordable homes.

Donate Services, Materials, or Land

Donate skilled labor, construction materials (such as nails, shingles, or siding), or suitable build sites in and around Holland and Zeeland. (We assist in the transaction, so there's no cost to the donor, and there are typically significant tax benefits.) This helps us keep costs down and build and repair more homes.

Lakeshore Habitat doesn't just build homes—we build brighter futures. Stable, affordable homeownership strengthens families and communities.

Does Habitat give homes away for free?
A Lakeshore Habitat home is a hand up—not a hand out. We sell houses to qualified applicants without profit, using affordable (less than 30% of monthly income), zero-interest mortgages. Homeowners complete 250 "sweat equity" (volunteer) hours per adult in the family (capped at 500) as part of the partnership. They also receive financial and homeownership training.

Will my donation remain local?
Yes. All donations we receive are used to support our work building and repairing local homes.

Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes! You will receive a receipt for any type of gift.

Can I donate toward a specific house or project?
Yes! Our
online donation form makes it easy to designate which project you would like to donate to, or you can indicate it in the memo line on a check.
