Strong women build strong communities! During the Women's Build, we aim to create a female-friendly worksite that allows women to take leadership and learn new skills while building homes, community, and hope. We strive to have over 50% of our construction site with women leading the way. Many of our homeowners are single female heads of household, making the Women's Build so important—it allows women to help empower other women.

Rock the Block is a city beautification event in Holland, led by Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity in collaboration with community partners. This impactful initiative revitalizes a neighborhood block by providing essential home repairs, accessibility improvements, and cleanup assistance. Volunteers and homeowners work side by side on projects like junk removal, landscaping and general maintenance, fostering a spirit of teamwork and pride.

World Habitat Day Event
October 5, 2026
World Habitat Day is marked on the first Monday of October each year and is recognized by the United Nations to reflect on the basic right of all to adequate shelter.
At Lakeshore Habitat, we’ll be creating awareness in our own community with a local event geared toward communicating the message that every one of us deserves the opportunity for a better future, and that a safe, affordable home can remove barriers to education, opportunity, health, and success.
