Forty-two Families Now Have a Place to Call Home
On June 29, our community gathered to celebrate the opening of a neighborhood that took more than four years to build.
More than a neighborhood, it’s the beginning of 42 new stories of children playing safely, parents building equity, and families experiencing stability and hope—often for the first time.
After more than four years of planning, partnership, and construction, Lakeshore Habitat and Jubilee Ministries celebrated the completion of Vista Green.

As I stood alongside Steve Grose of Jubilee Ministries and looked across the crowd of faces who helped create this life-changing moment for 42 families, I couldn’t help but feel awe (again) of what we built together.
Between hugs and handshakes, tours of beautiful homes, and homeowners sharing stories of what this home means for their future, we were reminded, again, of the priceless impact that a safe, affordable, stable home provides for generations to come.
And none of this happened by accident.
If you've ever volunteered, donated, sponsored an event, shopped at our ReStore, made a financial gift, or simply believed in our mission, this neighborhood belongs to you, too.
Because people like you believe that every family deserves a safe place to call home.
Your generosity and the dedication of thousands of volunteers, businesses, churches, and community partners created an opportunity for 42 local families to experience home—a place to create memories, build financial stability, and look forward to tomorrow with hope.
That is an incredible legacy.
And while Vista Green marks a major milestone, it is not the finish line. The need for affordable homeownership in our community continues to grow, and Lakeshore Habitat is already preparing for what’s next.
We have multiple new neighborhoods in development that will create opportunities for even more celebrations like this for dozens more deserving families.
