Amanda & family

We are thrilled to be partnering with Amanda and her five children as she works towards homeownership. Amanda has lived in Holland for most of her life and has always dreamed of owning a home here. A Habitat homeowner and friend of hers told her about the Homeownership Program and encouraged her to apply after Amanda and her family struggled with housing insecurity and inadequate space. For a while they were living with family and friends until they finally found a spot of their own, but the 6 of them have been sharing a 2-bedroom apartment. Amanda shares that she wanted better than that for her family, so she decided to apply. When she found out she was accepted into the Homeownership Program, she was shocked. She never thought she would actually get this opportunity, but she is so happy and thankful.

Amanda shares, “I just want to see my kids happy. I want them to have their own space and not have to worry about the downstairs neighbor. I want them to have a safe place to ride bikes and play outside. Having a house plays a big role in your happiness, and I think we’ll have less stress and more stability. I can’t wait for us to be happy in our home.”
